• Dr. Ann Ramsdell was named Health Sciences Foundation Developing Scholar by the Medical University of South Carolina.
  
• Dr. Susan Lessner was awarded an American Heart Association National Scientist Development Grant and a National Science Foundation grant along with Drs. Jeff Bischoff and Michael Sutton of Mechanical Engineering.
  
• Dr. David Murray was awarded a grant from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
  
• Dr. Edie Goldsmith and collaborators from Mechanical Engineering, Drs. Sarah Baxter and Kathy Murphy, received a National Science Foundation grant.

May 2006

• Dr. Holly LaVoie was awarded an EPSCOR/INBRE Collaborative Research Project with collaborator Samir Raychoudhury (Benedict College).

• Dr. Troy Baudino was awarded an American Heart Association National Scientist Grant.
